3-DAY ALL WOMEN'S MAINE GUIDE TRAINING
SEPTEMBER 30 – OCTOBER 2, 2022
8AM – 5PM DAILY
Become a leader of the waters and woods this fall with Master Guides Tami & John Rogers from Maine's Outdoor Learning Center, with over 20 years’ experience in teaching the Registered Maine Guide Training program, thousands of participants who now own successful Guide businesses, and over three decades of Guiding in the field.
Using practical techniques in the classroom and field including extensive map and compass work, this experience prepares you to test with the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife with confidence, knowledge, and wisdom. Whether you decide to come for Maine Guide Training or to boost your outdoor skills - you'll be covered!
This 16-hour, 2-day entry-level course is the ideal certification for outdoor enthusiasts looking for basic first aid training and backcountry medical skills. Wilderness First Aid (WFA) covers topics ranging from preparation and prevention to assessment and treatment. Students will have an opportunity to learn practical skills through hands-on scenarios as well as in a traditional classroom setting.
Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is a 2-year certification. For an additional fee, taking a WFA course can also re-certify a soon-to-expire Advanced Wilderness First Aid (AWFA) or Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification.
This course does not include CPR (required for WFA to be valid). American Heart Association CPR and AED courses are scheduled on the first evening of the WFA, Wednesday, Sept. 28, 5pm – 8pm. Email email@example.com with questions.
Surrounded by pristine and wild nature, we will be gathering in the inviting town of Rangeley, Maine, surrounded by lakes and offering quaint shops, restaurants, and plenty of outdoor activities, including Saddleback Ski Mountain. Our "classroom" will be moving between indoor space at The Rangeley Hideaway and outdoor space in the natural surrounds of the area.
Looking for Lodging in the Rangeley Area?
We have reserved a block of Fieldstone Cottages luxury cabins for the duration of our training. Please contact Stacey at 207-670-8268 and mention you are coming in for Guide Training!
